Buying a new truck today can get very expensive. Some trucks cost well over $100,000. Many people buy used trucks instead, but many used trucks still sell for tens of thousands of dollars. So how does anyone get a truck for under $20,000? They find auctions for repairable salvage trucks for sale in their area.

Of course, if you purchase a repairable salvage vehicle, you’re going to have to repair it.

In the video posted here, a mechanic does just that. He purchases as totaled Ford F250 for around $14,000 and budgets about $5,000 for the repairs he expects it to need. Then he gets to work and with the parts in hand, he finishes his repairs in only a few hours.

With such minimal labor and expense, this truck project was a great deal for the mechanic who took it on. Not all repairable salvage trucks will be in such great condition or sell for such a great price. But no matter how much you purchase a salvage vehicle for, it will likely be less expensive than a used truck in running condition.

If you’re curious about the work involved in repairing a salvage truck, watch the whole video. He shows the entire repair process.
