The video showed a day in the life of a worker who helps to monitor and catch Murray Cod, one of the largest freshwater fish in Australia. Their fish breeding set-up consists of three ponds and holding tanks.
Fishing for Murray Cod
When the workers go out in the water in the mornings, they throw out large nets to gather the fish. They inspect the fish inside the net and keep only the fish measuring 2 – 3 kg or more. Murray cod are green, and they have large mouths. Murray cod are well-known in the area for their delicious flavor and low-fat content.

Aquaculture jobs start early in the morning, the workers check the health of the fish in one of the holding tanks (referred to as raceways.) Once a month, the company examines 100 of the fish at random to determine their health. They inspect the gills and scales of random fish to see if they have contracted any diseases. The workers also test the water for algae levels, oxygenation, and nitrates.
